Annual Festivals & Events
Kids Fish- The Iowa Park Parks Department, Texas Young Anglers, and Texas Parks and Wildlife, hold an annual fishing event at Gordon Lake in October. The event is targeted to get youth involved in outdoor activities. Kids Fish is a one day event for the entire family with free fishing, food, and drinks. There is also a tank set up for toddlers to fish.
Light Up Christmas-Iowa Park kicks off the Christmas season every year with the annual Light Up Christmas Event. The event is held at the Tom Burnett Memorial Library. The Christmas lights are turned on for the first time at this community event. The High School band and Bradford singers perform and free refreshments are provided. This is a great family night out. Participants can enjoy the entertainment and beautiful Christmas lights put up by the city’s parks department employees.
Tailgates and Taillights Cruise- A cruise is held every year at the beginning of May. There is a burnout, cruise, tailgating competition, and outdoor movie at this event. It is fun for the whole family.
Park Fest-The first Saturday of May, the Chamber of Commerce hosts a street festival at Gordon Lake in conjunction with a car show.
Pig Pen Mud Volleyball Tournament-The Saturday closest to the 4th of July, charity mud volleyball tournament at Gordon Lake on the East Side.
Independence Day Fireworks Display- The Saturday closest to the 4th of July, follows the Pig Pen Mud Volleyball Tournament at Gordon Lake.
Whoop-to-do-The Saturday following the High School Homecoming Game, the Chamber of Commerce hosts a street festival in the 100 East and West blocks of Cash st. There are many different vendors, as well as performances from the band, choir, and other children’s organizations.
