On July 4, 2026, the U.S.A. will celebrate 250 years of freedom and independence, an historic celebration which will require more than a single day, week or month of the year. The celebration of freedom should be incorporated into every public event in 2026. While there will be many celebrations across North Texas and across the Nation this year, the primary celebration in Iowa Park will be held at Oscar Park (Lake Gordon) on Saturday June 27^th, one week before July 4^th. Every public and private organization in Iowa Park, and every citizen, is invited and encouraged to join in this historic celebration.

The highlight of the celebration will likely be the annual Community Development Corporation fireworks display at Lake Gordon on the evening of June 27^th. This is typically one of the first and best fireworks displays kicking off a week of Independence Day celebrations in the region. The Semi Quincentennial Celebration will be no exception. On the same day, the City of Iowa Park will host the annual Independence Day Pigpen Mud Volleyball Tournament and Charity Fundraiser event in Oscar Park. There is adequate space in Oscar Park for numerous events on the same date, the week(s) before, or the following week leading up to the 4^th of July.
