Notice to Citizens: New Speed Limit on Bell Road

If you have traveled along Bell Road between East Washington Avenue and the U.S. 287 Access Road, you have likely noticed the many beautiful new homes that have recently been built and occupied.

Residential growth and development are always welcome in Iowa Park. New neighborhoods bring families, friends, and children to our community. They also bring new hazards such as increased vehicle and pedestrian traffic, especially children who may be playing outdoors or traveling through the area.

Due to the continued population growth along Bell Road, the City Council has voted to reduce the speed limit on the northern portion of the roadway from 40 mph to 30 mph.

New speed limit signs have been installed, and police officers will be actively enforcing the new limit to help make drivers aware of the change and encourage compliance.

The safety of our residents remains our highest priority. We ask all motorists to be attentive to the increased activity in the area and to observe the new speed limit. Your cooperation will help make this growing neighborhood a safer place for everyone.
