Water-use Restrictions City Code (Sec. 13.05.008)

Even though there are no active drought response stages presently in effect for the City of Iowa Park, we are all stewards of the public water supply. It is in our best interests to conserve water for domestic water use, sanitation, fire protection, and to protect and preserve public health, welfare and safety, and to minimize the adverse impacts of water supply emergencies.

As daily consumers of potable water, we all must:

  1. Promptly repair any and all leaks, inside and outside, such as broken sprinkler heads, broken pipes or leaking valves.
  2. Use only licensed professionals to design new irrigation systems to conserve water.
  3. Only operate outside spray-type irrigation systems between 7:00 pm and 10:00 a.m. and do not overwater.
  4. Always equip handheld hoses used for landscape watering or motor vehicle washing with a positive shut-off nozzle which stops the flow of water when released by the operator.

These water-use restrictions are listed in the City Code (Sec. 13.05.008) and remain in effect to conserve water and protect the integrity of the public water supply.
